DSS Consulting Ltd. was founded in 1998. Our company is engaged in informatics developments. Currently we employ 60 software designers, developers, programming mathematicians, informatics experts and project managers for the development of highly innovative tailor-made solutions and applications.

The objectives of DSS in the field of bioinformatics
Our aim is to utilize our professional experience and our expert knowledge gained in the development of highly innovative IT solutions in cooperation with biotech research companies. We believe that the lifecycle of researches, often reaching 10-15 years, could be considerably shortened by the integration of high-level informatics solutions based on the most up-to-date mathematical algorithms, by which companies making use of those opportunities could realise significant cost-cuts and competitive advantages.

Some examples: our expertise could entail considerable save of time and money in case of researches requiring the procession, and process optimisation of large amounts of data, and also in cases when the wide range of measuring opportunities provided by high-tech instruments are not optimally exploited due to problems with the processing of the large amount of data.

What we have reached so far: we established cooperation with a scientific research institute employing bioinformatics researchers with up-to-date knowledge, so we are able to present the most recent theoretical results to researcher companies in the form of easy-to-use software applications, and also to communicate the needs of the industry towards the theoretical researchers, thus providing the link of the innovation chain that is often missing in Hungary. We were also granted state support to develop a software application to be used for the improvement of the selection method of target molecules to be observed in the researching of new active substances, by using new mathematical algorithms.

Answer to the question that in what certain fields of research could bioinformatics facilitate the work of biotechnologists, can only be given by the researchers themselves, so we intend to establish personal and long-term relationships with the players of the industry.
